July 2 correction

I got the e-mail today. Remedy this weekend is a special event. So, if you have a VIP card, you can get in for $5 a head before 11:30 and $10 after. But, the guestlist doesn't work on special event nights. For the rest of us, it's $15 to get in before 11, $20 after.

That being said, it's still going to be a hell of a party. I'm going to dance my happy little ass off, despite the high cover.

So, where are you gonna be?

July 1 - 4, 2004

I have a few fliers and have been looking at the source websites to figure out what I'm going to be doing over the next couple of weekends. Of course, it's Sunday now, so I should be up waving at the parade, but I'm lazy. I could also be at Devotion right now, but again, my laundry needs laundering and my groceries need purchased.

However, that does not prevent me from looking forward with great eagerness to this upcoming weekend and the following ones.

Thursday night (July 1):
When I went to Red Dot this weekend, I managed to score four VIP passes to KitKat at The End Up. So, now I need to talk to someone about transportation (or ride the bus like a good autonomous househead). But, I think a friend of mine who lives conveniently in San José might be going to that party. I have no idea who is spinning, though. But, I've never heard bad music at Kit Kat.

Friday night (July 2):
A couple of possibilities. First, Jesse Saunders (one of the originators of house music) and Charlotte the Baroness rip it up at Club Six for Legends of House 12.0. Club Six is a dank basement with a great sound system and lots of room, nondescriptly plunked right down in one of the nastiest neighborhoods in San Francisco. With a lineup like that, they'll have to turn those fans on early, because it can get pretty sweaty down in Six's basement.

Another great lineup for Friday night is Remedy at DNA Lounge. DNA is a spectacular venue with drinking fountains on both sides of the ample dancefloor. The Remedy party always brings out Ahmed the Funky Pharoah and his intrepid band of conga-playing friends. Friday's party is Kaskade's album release party. It will feature Joslyn on live vocals along with Kaskade, Ruben Mancias, and Patrick Wilson on the decks. This party will be a mind-blower. Get on the guestlist early.

Saturday night (July 3):
Nothing is really grabbing me at the moment. It seems like most of the cool parties are on Fridays. If I do go out on Saturday, I know that I can really never go wrong with Better Days at Pink on the Mission. It's a small venue with a very friendly crowd, great music, and a good vibe. It used to be called Liquid until recently and is high on my list of places that have provided me with some of my most memorable nights out in San Francisco. This particular night features Derek Grant and Kevin Koga.

Sunday night (July 4):
July 4. Independence Day. The 228th birthday of our country. What better place to end up than the End Up? The Sunday T-Dance features an special Independence Day BBQ, featuring Galen and Solar of Pacific Sound, along with T-Dance residents, Charlotte the Baroness and David Harness. This is a day party that will go until 8pm, so if I'm still feeling ready to boogie at 8, I may stick around for Devotion.

Introductions

Hi, I'm Apollo Lee. I like house music. The deeper, the better. I've been partying at house music events in San Francisco and the Bay Area continuously since 2000. You have probably seen me at some of them. I'm the crazy guy that can blow flute solos on my bare hands. Yeah, I've probably annoyed you at an event or two.

That being said, I decided after some deliberation to build something effortless that would let me examine the possibilities of what I'll be doing next weekend or the weekend after, instead of what I've already done, which is reserved for my normal website. I know quite a few of the people involved in the SF House scene and I go out quite often, sometimes a few times a week.
